With her constant commitment to promoting the protection of our planet's health and its precious waters, Federica Brignone could not ignore the issue of deforestation.
Deforestation is the second leading cause of climate change and accounts for 20% of greenhouse gas emissions, with enormous consequences for climate variations and global warming.
In the Sixth Trajectory, the skiing champion participated in the project “Replanting Human Beings” by visual artist Giuseppe la Spada. This initiative involves a series of performances where human beings transform into trees, highlighting the disrespect towards the Earth and becoming seeds of change.
During the summer of 2023 in La Salle, the artist “planted” like trees Federica and a group of 20 children and adults. Together, they created a forest, a community with a powerful message: let’s become seeds of hope to take root and extend our branches towards a better future.
On the same occasion, Federica Brignone also wanted to take concrete action against deforestation. In the park of the Municipality of La Salle, a new tree is growing – a red fir planted by the champion herself. In doing so, she contributes to the initiative supported by the United Nations to pursue the environmental sustainability goals of the 2030 Agenda, “Stop talking, start planting,” led by the international organization “Plant for the Planet” in collaboration with the herbal medicine specialist “Prodeco Pharma.
